Armonk Life

Nestled between lakes and reservoirs, amidst towering trees and rolling hills, resides a community endowed by nature and enriched with opportunity. Armonk, one of North Castle’s three hamlets along with North White Plains and Banksville, is a mere 35 miles from New York City, yet a world apart. The convenience of nearby airports, trains and highways affords commuters the luxury of a suburban yet cultural retreat.

The Armonk business community includes one-of-a-kind merchants, top-quality service providers and a food scene both recognized and lauded by foodies everywhere. Multinational companies, including IBM and Swiss Re, are among the town’s largest employers, with their tax dollars helping to support its quality of life.

The Byram Hills School District enrolls over 2,300 students throughout its four schools. One of the state’s top districts, its programs and services are evidence of the community’s involvement and support. Armonk’s high-achieving schools provide both academic excellence and a pathway to the nation’s best colleges and universities.

Armonk’s residents and visitors will find plenty to do here, with entertainment, music, art, history and outdoor recreation plentiful. The Armonk Players and Hudson Stage Company call Armonk their home, and the Armonk Outdoor Art Show has been attracting art-loving crowds for 58 years. Frosty Day has become an annual winter tradition, entertaining thousands with a day of activities and its Main Street parade. Smith’s Tavern, on the National Register of Historic Places, opens its complex to the public and educates school-age children on our local history. Outdoor activities abound, with over 2,800 acres of open space in North Castle, including public parks, private recreation, nature preserves and water supply.

The Armonk Chamber of Commerce is proud to support the hamlets of North Castle by promoting local businesses and connecting them with our community. Our annual events, found within the pages of this book: honor community leaders, support the library and the arts, and provide family entertainment while helping local businesses gain exposure. Whether you live here, own a business here or shop here, Armonk is a great place to be.
